Sangeet Bharati 2017 Report

It was Friday, 6th January 2017, a winter morning and from 8.30am participants from various colleges started reporting as it was the day of Sangeet Bharati. The registrations and breakfast started as well. The enthusiastic volunteers were all set and had prepared well for the event.

All the participants were excited for the competition to begin. On the other side, all the volunteers of the event were also excited as they were working hard since 15 days for the same.

The inaugural ceremony was held in the presence of Vishwajeet Joshi (Music Director), Savnee Datar (well known classical singer), Principal Dr. R.M.Chitnis sir and Prof. Kalyani Belsare. The first session started at 10:00 am with the world peace prayer followed by lighting of lamp.

The guests expressed their opinions about the program and after being felicitated. It was followed by showing a clipping of a song, produced by the guest of the session, from the movie “Ti Saddya Kaay Karte”.

Then proceeding towards the main program, one student from MITSOM College sung Ganesh Vandana. After that we started with the Classical Singing category. Total 5 entries were registered for Classical category. The first performance started at 11:00am.

The entire competition was judged by Savnee Datar.

The audience were also enthusiastic and were present in large number.

After completing first category, a break was given for around 45 minutes.

The second half was for the Semi-Classical Category. The second session started at 1:45pm, and had 16 performances.

All the performances were excellent and gave a feeling that apart from Bollywood music, Indian Classical Music also resides in young generation’s heart. The audience as well as the guest enjoyed all the performances.

After completing with all the performances, 2 MITSOM College students showcased their singing talent. Meanwhile, the judge of the competition decided the winners.

And then finally the time came for results. All the participants were waiting eagerly for the results.

The prize distribution ceremony was conducted in Presence of the judge - Savnee Datar, principal Dr. R.M.Chitnis sir, and Prof. Kalyani Belsare. The winners were declared from each category and were awarded with a trophy and a certificate followed by a photo session with the winners.

All the participants and audience left the hall with a smile and a relaxed feeling which indicated the success of the event.

At the end, volunteers too enjoyed the photo sessions.
